A month-long collaborative artist residency in the mountainous region of Pano Lefkara.
During this residency, multiple trails were chosen by myself for the group to walk, and then as a group we interpreted the physical and cultural aspects of the trails in our varying disciplines: through illustration, photography, videography, plant identification, natural dying, paper-making, printmaking and storytelling.
Crucially, we learnt the most from the skills and cultural memories of the locals in the village, such as the various intricate lace designs which subtly told individual stories, to the whispers of folklore from the surrounding landscape, stories only the eldest knew of.
This residency ultimately concluded in a collaborative body of work by all six participants, creating a small book that documented the local stories, landscape and its people.
