I have been leading workshops in Scotland at Made in Stirling, a CIC in Stirling. These workshops were organised by Creative Stirling, offering free printmaking classes for the children of low-income families, which included recent migrants who have now settled in Stirling. These were half-day weekend sessions in which I taught children and young teenagers how to draw a repeat design under a specific theme, how to safely carve their own lino block, and how to print their design using non-toxic inks on to a tote bag. The intent of these classes are to offer a safe and fun learning environment for children in the local area who wouldn’t otherwise be able to take part in extracurricular art activities. I will be continuing these workshops once funding is approved by Creative Scotland.
